The U.S. men's national soccer team's quest to build an abundance of momentum for the 2026 World Cup continues this summer with the Copa América, which will be held in the United States for the second time.
In 2016, the last time the Copa América was held in the U.S., the USMNT finished fourth in the tournament, ultimately falling in the third-place game to Colombia.
Colombia and the U.S. meet again on Saturday as both squads prepare for the 2024 edition of the tournament. It is the first of two international friendlies that the USMNT will play in the lead-up to the Copa América, with a second friendly against Brazil on Wednesday, June 12.
The USMNT's Copa América group stage opener is on Sunday, June 23 against Bolivia at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, regular home of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys. Colombia's Copa América group stage opener is on Monday, June 24 against Paraguay at NRG Stadium in Houston, regular home of the NFL's Houston Texans.
