It's been a down year for Bill Belichick at the helm ofthe New England Patriots, but on Sunday the esteemed coach notched the 300th regular-season win of his career, besting the Buffalo Bills 29-25 at Gillette Stadium.
The Patriots were the underdogs in the home matchup and snapped a three-game losing streak with the win. The victory also snaps a three-game losing streak against their AFC East foe.
"I mean, it’s great, I’m really more focused on our team and this year, we’ll worry about that later. Thank you," Belichick said after the game.
Quarterback Mac Jones went 25-of-30 for 272 yards and threw two touchdowns in the effort. The second one was the game-winner and came with 15 seconds left on second-and-goal. On National Tight End Day, he found tight end Mike Gesicki in the center of the end zone and tossed the ball to him over defender Taron Johnson for the 1-yard score.
New England led the entire game until 1:53 in the fourth quarter when Josh Allen ran in a 1-yard touchdown and pulled the Bills ahead 25-22. The quarterback went 27-of-41 for 265 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He also lost a fumble on the last play of the game.
